Fighting patrons beat shebeen owner to death

Police in Eastern Cape, South Africa, told SAPA that a 57-year-old shebeen owner was beaten to death by fighting patrons.

The is said to have tried to stop the two men from fighting, but they turned on him and beat him up with iron rods and sticks.

The man died at the scene on Saturday (June 1st) night.

Police were still looking for his assailants, who were well-known in the community, said Fatyela.
