Cape Town - A Cape Town man accused of killing a petrol attendant has been granted bail by the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court, the Cape Argus reported on Thursday.
The newspaper reported that Labeeq Manan, 30, was released on R3 000 bail on Wednesday and told to return to court on 30 September.
He reportedly faces a murder charge after Lawrence Mandipazano, 34, was assaulted at a Lentegeur service station on 4 June. He died in hospital.
The court heard that Manan faced no previous convictions or warrants of arrests.
According to the report, he had faced cases of assault in 2009 and 2010, which were withdrawn.
The Cape Argus earlier reported that it was alleged he got upset with Mandipazano because the petrol station's policy was that clients had to pay first before petrol was put into a car.
