Johannesburg - A fire dancer set his head alight during a party in Knysna, the NSRI said on Sunday.
The man, in his late 30s, was performing at a party at the Buffalo Bay caravan park on Saturday night when he caught alight, said the National Sea Rescue Institute's Knysna station commander Graeme Harding.
The man was treated for first and second degree burns to his head and taken to a local hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Fire dancing involves swinging burning objects, such as balls attached to chains, around ones body.
