Johannesburg - A truck transporting hydrofluoric acid overturned on the R511 in Pretoria on Thursday, Tshwane emergency services said.
The road between the M26 and the Church Street intersection would be closed for about four hours while the spill was cleaned up, spokesperson Johan Pieterse said.
The truck overturned as it was going round a corner, he said.
No one was injured.
Hydrofluoric acid is used in industrial applications like glass etching and to clean metals.
