Johannesburg - A helicopter made a crash landing in an open piece of land along Allandale Road in Midrand on Saturday, said paramedics.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the chopper's pilot, who was travelling alone, was injured in the crash.
"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the pilot to have sustained moderate injuries, the helicopter was lying on its side," said Botha.
"After he was stabilised on scene paramedics from a private service transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required."
Police would investigate the cause of the crash.
