Late South African President Nelson Mandela's daughter Zindzi has lashed out at media reports that she accuses of publishing "sensationalist" stories over the exclusion of her mother Winnie from the her father's 46 million rand Will.
South African and international media went into frenzy on Tuesday following the public reading of Mandela's Will where no mention of his ex-wife Winnie's name was made.
In his will, Mandela left money to his children, grandchildren, employees, his wife Graca and her children as well as learning institutions among others.
Zindzi took to Twitter to express her anger over reports over Winnie's exclusion from Mandela's Will saying the reports were not only sensationalist but mischievous.
"I am grateful to my father for all that he has done for his immediate family and his extended global one," Zindzi said.
"Media reports that my mother was left out of the will are mischievous and sensationalist."
Zindzi said her mother never attended the reading of Madiba's will as she didn't regard herself as a beneficiary.
"Why would she expect to be maintained after his passing when she was never maintained during his life-time?" vented Zindzi.
"Mama will continue to mourn my father according to traditional protocols whilst holding Mama Graca's hand throughout this difficult period. Irrespective, no amount of speculation will define the love that is shared by our family even when we disagree on issues from time to time."
Winnie on the other hand did not post anything in response to the media reports, only re tweeting her daughter's posts.
