A fake photo of Generations actresses Maggie Benedict (33), who plays Akhona and Xoli Zondi (29), who plays Zodwa, has surfaced online.
The photo, which shows has the heads of Xoli and Maggie Photoshopped on bodies without clothes and hugging, is being circulated on social networks and has shocked many people.
Generations head writer Nongi Ndaba told Daily Sun: "This is not the first time our actors have been attacked in this way. I believe this happens because they work for the biggest show in the country. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do because it's a personal matter."
Maggie's agent from Artist Connection, who refused to be named, said: "It's not her in the photo. Maggie has a very small middle and a bigger bum. You can see the head and the body aren't the same colour. She also has a tattoo which is not in the picture."
Mzwandile Tenza from Tenza Attorneys said it was a serious offence that had been committed but it would be difficult to get to the bottom of it.
"The women's dignity and rights have been violated but the question is who did it. The women could lay criminal charges or go to a civil court," he said.
Javu Baloyi of the Commission for Gender Equality said: "This photo could harm their reputation in the entertainment industry."
