57-year-old traditional healer Theresa Molokela (57) from Kagiso, west of Johannesburg says that a rival traditional healer has stolen her face.
She says that her problems started three years ago when her daughter decided she didn't want to live in the house with her mother any more.
"She said I had cast evil spells on her," said Theresa.
"I explained to her that it was not me. I said it was a sangoma who lives nearby who had stolen my face but she didn't want to hear anything."
But that was only the beginning of Theresa's ordeal. Soon afterwards neighbours accused her of doing evil things to them as well.
"I went to another sangoma who confirmed what her ancestors told her through the bones.
"It hurts me when people accuse me of things I didn't do," said Theresa. "I became a sangoma to help people, not to hurt them."
Last year Theresa's brother died after being hit by a car.
"I wasn't allowed to bury my brother because I was accused of killing him," she said.
Theresa said everyone in her neighbourhood is convinced she is evil.
"Somebody is using my face and terrorising people in their houses at night."
She lives in fear and is worried people might want to kill her.
"I don't want to die for someone else's actions. It's not me, it's a sangoma who stole my face," she said.
"I have no peace in my own house, with animals running over my roof which nobody can get rid of. I've been blocked so people don't consult me," said Theresa.
She said if she knew what muthi (concoction) was being used against her, she could do something to end her nightmare.
"I am a victim of some jealous rival who wants to see my kids kill me," she said.
She said that if her rival wants to bewitch people she should do so using her own face, so people can see her for who she is.
"She must show her face so that people know what she is.
"I need to get my face back from this evil sangoma."
When Daily Sun spoke to the other traditional healer, she denied stealing Theresa's face and said perhaps Theresa should stop being a traditional healer.
"I'm also a sangoma but I don't have anything against her.
"Maybe it is a sign that she must throw away her bones," said the woman.
