Man freed after 13 years in jail for a rape he did not commit

JACKSON Thobela (55) thought his life was over when he was sentenced to life in prison 13 years ago!
He was found guilty of raping his 10-year-old niece. But on Tuesday morning, everything changed when he was released.
His 23-year-old niece Sindiswa Matshabela said her mum had forced her to lie! Daily Sun published a story about Sindiswa's shocking confession in January.
This got the ball rolling to get Jackson released from Grootvlei Prison in Bloemfontein.
Jackson, from Bolokanang, told Daily Sun: "Had it not been for the Daily Sun, I would still be behind bars.
"The truth you published in the paper has helped to set me free!" His uncle, Jacob Moatlhodi (58) couldn't stop his tears after his nephew's release.
Jacob immediately performed a ritual to cleanse Jackson of any bad luck he might have picked up in prison.
Jackson said he has forgiven Sindiswa and even her mum, who died in 2006.
