Johannesburg - A man out on bail has allegedly gone on a shooting spree in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, killing a motorist and injuring others, The New Age reported on Thursday.
Quoting witnesses, the newspaper said the man went to a tavern on Sunday, got into a fight with patrons and was forced to leave.
He was then involved in a car accident but did not stop to exchange details.
The driver of the car he crashed into followed him home where an argument ensued, during which the driver was shot dead and others were injured.
Gauteng correctional services spokesperson Ofentse Morwane confirmed to The New Age that the man was out on R1 500 bail after being arrested for theft. He is still at large.
Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza declined to provide details of the incident to Sapa, saying she could only confirm a murder case was opened.
