35-year-old Lydia Motaung from Qalabotjiha in Villiers, Free State, SA, believes a goblin is poisoning their food.
When she and and her son are hungry, she buys food and they eat in the street because she fears that they could die, just like her sister who died in March this year.
"All the food that comes into my yard is poisoned by an invisible thing," said Lydia.
"I think it's a tokoloshe and it wants to kill my whole family."
She said when they eat the food they become very ill.
"The symptoms are always the same - dry throat, dizziness, terrible fever and severe headache."
Lydia said that the family was not aware of what was happening until her sister told her before she died.
"My sister told me that she ate food prepared in the house and she became very ill," she said.
"I thought she was confused but after she ate food prepared in the house again she died."
She said besides bringing sickness, the invisible thing also causes fights between family members.
"It's painful to see family members turning against each other and being unable to help each other when we are sick.
"We need help to get rid of this thing," she said.
