50-year-old Nokuthula Ngcobo of Lindela transit camp, Newlands West, north of Durban is a devoted member of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.
But she said she is lucky to be alive after she was attacked by a group of people at her house on Saturday.
A witness who didn't want to be named said if it wasn't for her burglar guards, she would have been killed.
"These people wanted her blood. They said she was a Satanist and accused her of being member of a Satanic church.
"It was bad to see a woman being attacked like that," said the source. Nokuthula said they accused her of sprinkling a Satanist liquid on them.
They demanded that she leave the area. Other residents came to her rescue and calmed the situation down.
Another source said those who attacked Nokuthula are people whom she had complained about a few weeks ago.
Apparently Nokuthula had complained about residents making a noise at a tavern near her house. Some believe those who attacked her were out for revenge.
"They are using the issue of Satanism to get her out of the area," said the source.
Nokuthula said: "It's not true that I poured muthi on them. I'm a devoted Universal Church member and I know nothing about Satanism in our church."
