Strong tremor felt in parts of South Africa

Johannesburg - An earth tremor was felt in Johannesburg and other parts of the country shortly after midday on Tuesday, according to reports.

According USGS, the epicenter was 6km East of Orkney the earth tremor measured 5.3 on the Richter scale.

A number of Twitter users took to the social network to share their experiences of the tremor.

eNCA reported that the tremor was felt in Johannesburg and Soweto.

Reports indicated the tremor was felt in other parts of the country, as far afield as Pretoria and Bloemfontein.
