80 shacks on fire in South Africa

Johannesburg - About 80 shacks were on fire in the George Goch informal settlement in Johannesburg on Sunday morning, the city's emergency services said.

"At this stage there are no injuries or people reported missing," spokesperson Nana Radebe said just before 05:00.

"We have four fire stations on scene. In this cold weather we urge people to be careful with lighting especially candles."

She said the cause of the fire was not known.
