Khama re-elected

The Chief Justice of the High Court, H.H. Justice Maruping Dibotelo, has appeared on Botswana Television and Radio Botswana, in his capacity as the returning officer for this year's Presidential contest, to declare that Ian Khama has been re-elected as the President of the Republic after his political party, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) garnered at least 29 of the 57 Parliamentary seats needed to win this year's general elections.
While the BDP has obtained a majority, counting in a number of constituencies is continuing.
President Khama's inauguration is scheduled to take place on Tuesday morning.
