Durban - Management at Durban University of Technology were expected to meet students in a bid to end protests on campus.

Some classes were disrupted on Monday and Tuesday at DUT's Durban campuses but the university has not suspended classes.

The students are demanding the institution provide branded condoms and sanitary towels to each student room but the university says this will be costly and unsustainable.

Students were also demanding financial aid for Bachelor of Technology students.

According to DUT vice chancellor, Professor Ahmed Bawa, government does not provide funding for B.Tech studies except in the cases of education and nursing.

There was also a petition from the students calling for the dissolution of the SRC.
