Botswana minister wants buffer zone between Zimbabwe and Botswana

Botswana's Minister of Justice Defence and Security, Shaw Kgathi says he has made the request for a buffer zone between the Zimbabwe and Botswana borders to prevent the spread of Foot and Mouth Disease, APA reported on Friday.

Kgathi said the proposition, which is yet to be approved, would best the solution to the problem of foot and mouth disease.

He added that the proposed buffer zone could also be used as a horticultural stretch especially because there is a lot of water in the area.

Botswana's Minister of Agriculture, Patrick Pule Ralotsia is currently in the Zimbabwean capital Harare for a meeting with his Zimbabwean counterpart Joseph Made.
