Zim constitute majority of undocumented foreigners in SA

The Zimbabwean Workers Union of South Africa has indicated that Zimbabweans constitute a largest number of undocumented foreigners in South Africa amid revelations that after the xenophobic attack seizes the government will start dealing with them decisively.

The union made the indications through its facebook page calling for the Zimbabweans to start registering for permits in order to prevent any eventualities.

"ZIWUSA stands for workers , on union's terms; workers also include unemployed and entrepreneurs," reads it post.

"It is an open secret that when the xenophobia dust has settled,the SA government will deal decisively with illegal immigrants .Its not a secret that Zimbabwe has many undocumented migrants in SA , as results many of our people will be victims , many will be deported , some lose their jobs ,some jailed."

The union said it is clear that no one desire to be illegal immigrant but the situation sometimes compels.

"The message from ZIWUSA is clear, people should abide with the laws of the country , everyone should endeavour to be regulated," reads the post.

"ZIWUSA also understand the complexity when comes to acquiring legal papers here, esp to the low skilled workers . ZIWUSA is a unique UNION,we have three core business to tackle ie Labour , Social and immigration issues .ZIWUSA is currently putting some mechanism in place to ensure that it deliver effective on these 3 key issues."
