STRIKING South Africa mobile provider MTN workers have demanded that their Zimbabwe born Group President and CEO Sifiso Dabengwa to return to his country.
Dabengwa is accused of dissecting human dignity of giving decent wage living standard.
Dabengwa ranks among the highest paid CEO in telecoms and tech in South Africa.
This comes as foreigners in South Africa are under increasing attack in a fresh wave of xenophobia.
The workers sent their messages through placards.
"#No to Xenophobia" read one card while another said "But Sifiso must go to Zim and Ahmed to Lebanon.
"They don't respect human dignity of giving decent wage living standard".
Today, MTN said its call and service centres as well as its distribution offices will be affected by a strike being led by the Communication Workers Union (CWU) who are demanding a 10 percent pay hike for its members and higher bonuses.
Dabengwa is an Engineering Graduate of the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) and was Chief Operating Officer of MTN Group and CEO of MTN Nigeria before his elevation to the top job in 2011.
Before joining the MTN in 1999, Dabengwa headed Eskom's distribution division, where he controlled a multibillion-rand budget in a division employing 17 000 people and generating revenues of more than R20bn/year.
