Zim's Hatiwande Nyamande finishes third, Muzhingi 8th in Comrades Marathon

Young Zimbabwean long distance runner Hatiwande Nyamande put a commendable display at Comrades Marathon after finishing a credible third ahead of veteran Zimbabwean long distance runner Stephen Muzhingi who finished eight in the gruelling 89km race in KwaZulu Natal today.
Hatiwande Nyamande recorded 5:48:19 to claim third and the three-times Comrades Marathon winner, Muzhingi, literally crawled to the finishing line in 5 hours, 56 minutes, 36 seconds.
Nyamande and Muzhingi are the only two local runners to finish in the top 10.
South African Gift Kelehe won his maiden Comrades Marathon as he crossed the finishing line in a time of 5 hours, 38 minutes and 36 seconds (5:38.36).
He finished the 89,28 kilometres race over seven minutes ahead of Mohamed Husien of Ethiopia, who recorded a time of 5:46.14.
