Driver in Simba Mhere accident appears in court

The driver involved in the collision in which Zimbabwean television presenter in South Africa Simba Mhere died appeared in court on Thursday‚ for the first time since the day of the crash.
Mhere's publicist Lorraine Maisel said in a statement the accused‚ Preshalin Naidoo‚ appeared in the Randburg Magistrate's Court facing charges of reckless driving and culpable homicide.
Mhere and his passenger‚ Kady-Shay O'Bryan‚ died on the scene of the accident on William Nicol Drive in Fourways during the early hours of January 31.
The case is expected to go to trial in August.
Mhere‚ who was 26‚ was well-known as a presenter on the lifestyle show Top Billing.
O'Bryan‚ 29‚ was the mother of a four-year-old girl.
