THREE sangomas were sleeping in the early hours of Wednesday morning when a man entered their house and crept under their blankets!
They told Daily Sun that they had no idea how the man got in because the doors and the gate to their home in Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, were locked.
Sangoma Tshidi Motsamai said she woke up and started screaming for her brother, who was sleeping in the outside room, to help them.
"We were shocked," she said.
Tshidi said they suspected the man used magic to enter the house because there were no signs of a break-in. According to her, the man had disrespected the ancestors and had to buy a white goat, hen and cock to cleanse the yard.
"We phoned the cops, who came and took him to Daveyton Police Station. The police said they couldn't open a case because there was no evidence of a break-in and he didn't harm any of us."
The man, who gave his name as Johannes Mokoena, said he had no idea how he got into the house. The SunTeam spoke to members of the Tolwane family, to whom Johannes is related, to find out if he was mentally stable. They said there was nothing wrong with him but they would take him to an inyanga to investigate.
Sangoma Dumezweni Mahabuke said it could be that the man was used by someone who is jealous of the sangomas to block their success.
He said he must have used izizwe zo moya muthi, which makes people vanish or enter buildings using magic.
