Johannesburg - There are still long queues at the South African Home Affairs offices around South Africa, with more than 270 000 Zimbabweans still waiting for permits after applying to live and work in South Africa.
The Zimbabwe Dispensation Project deadline expired on 1 August but not all Zimbabweans have been served with residence documentation, reported SABC news.
Home affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said the delays in issuing documents were caused by insufficient paperwork being submitted or fingerprints not being done.
He said the department had received more than 90 000 incomplete applications.
