Teenage boy kills uncle over meat

A 16 year old secondary school dropout from Shashe Mooke was on Friday dragged before Francistown Magistrate Thebeetsile Molalu for killing his uncle in cold blood over a piece of meat.
The juvenile boy is said to have stabbed his uncle three times on Tuesday night, after the two were embroiled in a fight over a piece of meat.
The lad who looked startled as he stood in the dock, is said to have stabbed his uncle who he was living with, under his left breast, in the abdomen and back, before he fled the scene.
He was later found hiding in the bush by the police.
Gerald police found the victim lying in a pool of blood, only to be certified dead at Nyangabgwe Referral hospital.
The boy who was expelled from school while he was still doing Form 3, is said to have been intoxicated when he killed his uncle.
He was not asked to enter a plea and was remanded until next month when he will appear in court.
Meanwhile, police are still conducting investigations and have asked the boy to be attended to by social workers, to establish his psycho-social background.
