Zimbabwean arrested for SA horror park double murder and rape

A 24-year-old Zimbabwean man (name withheld), who faces charges of murder, rape and attempted murder, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on 2 November over the recent killing of two men and attempted murder of two women at Rhodes Park, Kensington, Gauteng police have confirmed.
"A person who was detained for questioning on Friday morning in Yeoville has now been linked to the scene, where two men were murdered and a woman raped at Rhodes Park," Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said. "He will face charges of murder, rape and attempted murder.
This publication also learnt that the rest of the gang fled to Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwean police are hot on their heels as their identities are now known.
"Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the suspects to come forward. Any information may be forwarded to Crime Stop at 08600-10111 at all hours."
Last month, twelve men terrorised Rhodes Park in Kensington when they raped a woman and killed two men.
The woman and her husband - one of the two men murdered - were accosted by the 12 on Saturday evening. The woman was raped in front of her husband and the couple were robbed before the man was stabbed repeatedly.
Another couple, who were with the first, were also accosted by the 12. The woman was able to escape but her long-term partner was killed.
The bodies of the two men were found in a reservoir.
