TEN Zimbabwean mayors and town clerks are set to visit Johannesburg to view the operations of the municipalities as a way of learning how they should adopt the systems for their respective town s back in Zimbabwe.
This was revealed by Harare Residents Trust.
"The Harare City Council has a trip planned today, 10 Mayors, 10 Town clerks, 10 finance directors and 10 IT managers are for Johannesburg and cape town to view municipalities using the SAP software and they are coming back on Friday," said the Trust.
"On average each person needs $500 for the flight. Adding the cost of accommodation and allowances the money being spent on this trip is absurd. it is a noble idea to go see and exchange experiences with other countries in order to get best practices. But a delegation with 40 people is too costly and wasteful for an administration that claims that they are facing challenges with their fiscus."
