WHEN a man proposed love to Siphiwe Nkalanga she saw red.
A 62 year old woman from Mpumalalnga has never had sex with any many since her life to a point that family members think she will die a virgin.
Worried sister Joyce (52) from Thambokhulu near Malelane in Mpumalanga said her sister Siphiwe has never had sex for her life and this was making her suffer.
"Since she beat that man up all other men in the village have been too scared to speak to her," she said. "They feared a beating, even though some loved her."
Joyce said a doctor told them three years ago that a lack of sex was affecting Siphiwe's eyesight.
"He said she must have sex to make her body produce hormones called serotonin and oxytocin," she said. "He said these are love hormones that heal depression. Even at her age, I want to see her fall in love and live happily like other women."
But Siphiwe said: "I don't care what the doctor said. I have nothing against men, as long as they stay far, far away from me. I will never get married. I want to stay a virgin forever."
