Police in Francistown have arrested two suspected habitual criminals who have allegedly been terrorizing residents of Satellite, Newstands, Coloured and Selepa locations.

The Voice reported that for over a year, 29-year-old Othusitse Wankie of Coloured location and popularly known as Sekopo together with his alleged partner in crime, Peter Mothwalo (19) of the same location have allegedly been terrorizing the four locations.

Over the festive season the suspects, armed with metal rods, allegedly went on the rampage attacking people and stealing their property.

But their reign of terror came to an end over the Christmas holiday, when a police task force patrol team nabbed them.

Appearing before Francistown principal magistrate Thebeetsile Mulalu recently, both Wankie and Mothwalo were not asked to plead to two counts of robbery.

Particulars of the offense are that the accused, on December 18 2015 at Satellite location in Francistown, stole cash amounting to P130.00 and a Nokia handset valued at P65.00 being the property of one Thatayaone Kelatheletswe.

During the commission of the alleged offense, the court heard that the duo injured Kelatheletswe by hitting him with a metal rod on the right side of the forehead and left shoulder.

On count two, the court heard that the duo robbed one Kopano Mabengwa of a white Samsung cellphone valued at P400 and cash amounting to P130.00 on the same day at Satellite location.

Prosecuting the matter, Inspector Goitsemang Ramatatome pleaded with the court for the duo to be remanded in custody as they are regarded as dangerous to the society.

Ramatatome told the court that the duo had made life difficult for the residents.

The prosecutor told the court that there is a high possibility of more charges being pressed against the duo.

The case continues and the duo is expected in court next Friday for a routine mention.
