ON Thursday and Friday last week the evil muthi did its job, scaring pupils and teachers away at a school near Brits in South Africa.
Daily Sun reported that But now they and the parents of Bapo Primary School in Bapong, near Brits have decided to fight back – with prayer!
Daily Sun reported on Monday that red rags were found last week in the principal's office, the kitchen, the library and at the gate.
The evil cloths looked as if they had been wrapped in muthi and were believed to be the work of Satanists or witches.
The school closed for two days last week.
By the weekend people had removed the rags but kids and teachers were still scared.
Religious leaders and school management called a prayer meeting to cleanse the school.
It was led by born-again Christian Emily Nthunya, whose grandkids are at the school.
"We are here to destroy Satan and chase him out of our school," she said. "His things have no power."
She told pupils to learn to pray hard because nobody knew who the evil spell was aimed at. Parents, some wearing church uniforms, stood with the teachers and everybody prayed before the kids returned to class.
The prayer sessions will continue on Wednesdays and Fridays.
