Man in court for trying to kill brother

Siremo Willem Hamutenya, 34, was denied bail when he appeared in the Rundu Magistrate's Court yesterday on charges of the attempted murder and assault of his brother.
The New Era reported that the accused almost killed his brother in a heated fight. The accused was arrested by the police on Sunday at Marema village, about 10 km east of Nkurenkuru in Kavango West.
The accused appeared before magistrate Helen Olaiya, while Tjeripo Muruko prosecuted. The case was remanded to April 26.
The accused was denied bail as the accused and the victim are brothers and the brother fears for his life after his near death experience. They are domiciled at the same residence at Marema village.
The court also advised the accused to get legal representation and informed him of his rights to make a formal bail application
