Thieves shot man during operation

A 62-year-old bar owner from Lentsweletau, was on Sunday evening shot and seriously injured by thieves who also got away with P48 000 which was in his car.
Samuel Mmadintsi who is currently recovering at Princess Marina said he was sleeping in his car outside the drinking hole when he was awakened by commotion and noise from the bar.
He said the armed robbers who were wearing black pantihose as masks stormed the bar and ordered everyone to be still before coming out to him where they shot through the window of his vehicle.
"I immediately tried to get out of the car and they shot me on the thigh. They then took the money and sped off," he said adding that P2000 which dropped off during the robbery was recovered near where the robbers had parked their car.

Mmadintsi who described the incident as horrible and disturbing said he was grateful to be alive as the armed robbers could have shot him dead.
"I was terrible shaken at the time of the incident but fortunately I saw the faces of the armed robbers as their masks were transparent. I can recognize them if brought before me," said Mmadintsi.
He said he the cash was from sales of the week and was due to deposit the money on Monday.
Officer Commanding Molepolole Kevin Mookodi confirmed the incident and that no one had been arrested in connection with the case.
"It is a fresh matter and investigations are still ongoing," said Mookodi.
