A SAD mum believes her 12-year-old son is blind because of her lies.
She said she deliberately gave him away to be raised by another man because she believed his real dad couldn't afford to support him.
Daily Sun reported that the other man performed a ritual to introduce him to his ancestors, but the boy suddenly went blind.
Sangomas told his 27-year-old mum that she made a huge mistake by knowingly giving the child to the wrong family.
"I regret doing this, but there's nothing I can do to turn back the hands of time. Even the doctors can't help him," she said.
The boy's real dad said if a DNA test proves that he is the father of the boy, he will try to help.
"She disappeared in 2003 and failed to say that she was pregnant.
"Years later, she dropped a bombshell when she confessed. She did this after sangomas had told her that the child must be introduced to the right ancestors in order for him to regain vision," said the man.
SA Traditional Healers Association president Sazi Mhlongo said: "They need to apologise to the ancestors and introduce the child to the right ones before something worse happens."
