A jealous man reportedly hacked his wife death before hanging himself.
Daily Sun reported that on, Mmolawa Rankwe decided he couldn't take it any more and hacked his wife of 13 years to death before hanging himself!
The 49-year-old from Luckau Village, outside Groblersdal in Limpopo, was found hanging from the ceiling of his living room on Friday morning by Sophie Mabena (73), the mum of his wife, Funnie Mabena (44).
Gogo Sophie said she looked for Funnie on Thursday but she couldn't find her.
"She had planned to meet me at the pension grant paypoint and I was worried when she didn't show up," she said.
"I went to her house on Friday morning and saw Mmolawa's body hanging from a wire. I ran out and called for help.
"The police were called to the scene and found my daughter's body covered in blood and wrapped in blankets under the bed in the main bedroom."
Gogo Sophie said the relationship between Funnie and Mmolawa was never good.
"My daughter always told me she wanted to move out of the house and build her own shack somewhere else. She couldn't cope with his jealousy.
"Now he has hacked her like a cow. I wish I could die myself. She was everything to me," she said.
April Mehlape (59), Mmolawa's cousin, said he last saw him on Thursday afternoon when he asked if he could park his car at April's house.
"He said he was going to the police station to hand himself in because he'd had a fight with his wife," said April.
Warrant Officer Aviva Magolego said a murder case and an inquest docket were opened.
