Wife killed over chicken liver

A 69-year-old Willowvale man was arrested for allegedly killing his 67-year-old wife when she did not serve him chicken livers for supper, Eastern Cape police said today.
She died after he allegedly beat her with a stick on Monday, Captain Jackson Manatha said.
He demanded that she cook chicken livers, but was told they were not yet ready. He went to bed and when he woke up at 1:25am on Tuesday, he took a stick and beat his wife on her upper body.
She died on the scene. The man was arrested and will appear in the Willowvale Magistrate's Court on a murder charge on Thursday.
