A ZIMBABWEAN journalist working in South Africa has survived death by a whisker after a vehicle fell off a towing truck that allegedly jumped a red robot and crashed into his car in Germiston, east of Johannesburg.

CAJ reported that Ntandoyenkosi Ncube (34) was traveling in his Nissan Qashqai and his wife Rebecca Ncube when the accident happened at the intersection of South Rand Road and R59 streets.

The pair has been treated at the Germiston Hospital after sustaining injuries.

"The towing truck broke the chain releasing the car behind, which came to me like a bullet. The car being pulled is the one which hit the right side of my car's passenger side pushing my vehicle to the outer-line," said Ncube.

He said his car was damaged badly on both sides.
