The shepherd who rescued the girl said: "Why would he rape? He could get a woman for the price of two beers. He could have had a woman for R20."
When cops finally arrived at the scene, the man could still walk to the van – but he died later after being taken to hospital. Department of Education spokesman, Dr Vangeli Ntseto, told Daily Sun: "I don't think there will be a problem for the girl to write the papers she missed."
