No outright winner for AU Commission top post

The three candidates vying to replace Dr Nkhosazana Dhlamini Zuma as the African Union (AU) Commission chairperson have failed to make it after they could not get the required two thirds majority, in an election held in Kigali Rwanda.

The election to replace Dr Zuma will now be held at the next AU summit in Adis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2017.

This means new candidates have an opportunity to join the race.
