The initial results in Egypt's first stage of parliamentary elections indicated that the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) has the highest rate of votes, the party said on its website on Wednesday.
The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) said in a statement that the Salafist's Nour Party came after the FJP and the secular Egyptian Block ranked the third.
The FJP took the lead in the party lists in four governorates including Cairo, while there was strong competition between the FJP and the Nour Party in two other provinces, the statement said.
The FJP has the highest rate of vote in the individual seats in the nine governorates in the first stage of the People's Assembly elections held on Monday and Tuesday, it added.
