THE Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has released the 2011 November Ordinary Level results.

This follows the release of the Advanced Level results on 19 January.

In a statement yesterday, Zimsec director Mr Happy Ndanga said the results would be ready for collection by schools today.

"Zimsec is pleased to announce that the Ordinary Level results for the November 2011 examinations are out. As from tomorrow, 31 January, heads can collect their results from Zimsec regional offices throughout the country or from Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture offices, as designated by the Zimsec regional  manager in liaison with the provincial education director," said Mr Ndanga.

He said candidates should be able to collect their results as soon as headmasters collect them.

Mr Ndanga thanked people who worked to ensure that Zimsec exceeded expectations by releasing results early.

"We take this opportunity once again to thank  those who worked tirelessly to make the prompt release of the results possible. We would also like to commend our examiners for faithfully implementing the new system of marking, the Belt system,  thus increasing efficiency and accuracy,"  he said.

The early release of results is a big improvement by Zimsec as in recent years, results have been coming out late, inconveniencing pupils who needed them to look for places at universities and high schools.

The results for the 2008 November examinations were released in July 2009.
