Late Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu honoured

The late national hero, Dr Sikhanyiso Duke Ndlovu has been posthumously honored after a new science laboratory at Induna High School at One Infantry Brigade was named after him in honor of the contributions he made in transforming the educational standards at military schools.

Dr Ndlovu was a veteran educationist and once served as board chairperson of the Army Schools Welfare Trust which witnessed the transformation of formal military schools into highly competitive institutions in the country's academic front.

Officiating at the event, Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Commander, Lieutenant General Phillip Valerio Sibanda said it was through the contributions of the late national hero that the army's formal schools are beginning to excel in their studies judging by the 2016 results.

Widow to the late national hero, Dr Rose Ndlovu said the family is humbled by the honor as it gives the family pride that the late hero's works are also remembered at national scale.

Commander 1 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Augustine Chipwere urged parents to encourage their children to embrace science and technology subjects in line with global trends.

The government through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is currently in the process of implementing the revised education curriculum which gives emphasis on science and technology as it encourages students to be innovative in addressing the country's needs.
