Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority has vowed to cut power supplies to Bulawayo City Council schools and community halls due to non-payment by the local authority.
Council runs countless schools and halls in the townships.
The MDC-T lead council is wallowing in more than $21 million debt.
"We have observed that no payment was made to Zesa and the power utility has now extended its disconnection of power to council schools and community halls," councilor James Sithole a member of the finance committee said.
In March , Zesa cut power supplies at Tower Block and Revenue Hall due to non-payment as the local authority defaulted on its payment agreement.
Council had agreed to pay $1,2 million per month to clear its debt.
However, council has since paid $557 981 to Kingdom Bank as it owes about $5 million.
