Eveline Girls High student gives birth in school laboratory

A form three student at Eveline High School in Bulawayo gave birth at a laboratory during lunch break on Tuesday.

However, the baby died after delivery before an ambulance called in by school authorities arrived.

School authorities are mum on the issue but several girls at the school confirm the incident.

"It was well known to her classmates that she was pregnant. During lunchtime she went to the lab and gave birth" said one student.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Mandlenkosi Moyo said they could only know of the incident if it involved crime or abortion.
