Mugabe caps 2 700 UZ graduands

The Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe capped over 2 700 graduands at the institution of higher learning.
The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) 59th graduation ceremony saw the conferment of degrees to graduates from the institution's faculties among which include agriculture, arts, health sciences, commerce education, engineering, law, science, social studies, veterinary science and the UZ School of Technology.
Professor Levi Nyagura said the institution has adopted a deliberate policy on research to complement government efforts in sustainable development programme.
He noted that the university was able to embark on various development programmes such as improvement in internet services, water reticulation, construction of water reservoirs, and the recruitment of highly qualified lecturers.
Among those who received degrees was the Minister of Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Cde Saviour Kasukuwere who graduated with a Master of Science degree in International Relations.
The UZ also expressed gratitude to the First Lady Grace Mugabe for donating over 110 laptops and Mbada Diamonds for extending the mining metallurgy building.
