Communities have been urged to work hard and upgrade satellite schools so as to create conducive learning environments for their pupils.

Speaking at the official opening of Hubert Secondary School in Southlea Park, the Provincial Education Director for Harare Metropolitan Province, Mr Calvin Mazula said the establishment of the school is enough testimony that government is committed to providing education to all its citizens.

"Zimbabwe is leading in the provision of quality education in the continent and the opening of this school is a clear testimony of the government's commitment to continuously provide quality education to all," he said.

House of Assembly Member for Harare South Constituency, Cde Hubert Nyanhongo said the school is a product of the land reform and its establishment shows the success of the programme.

The occasion also saw some youths from the constituency benefiting from a grinding mill which they would use for income generation.

The school, which was transformed from barns and shades into a standard school, has come as a relief to both parents and students from the Southlea Park Area.
