Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Scholarships: Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa

The Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa aims to make a contribution to the role and rule of law in Africa through advanced research. Researchers in the field of law and law reform in Africa, specifically on comparative and international law levels, will visit and work with the Institute. Professors; Erika de Wet and Christof Heyns are the co-directors.
The Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa is offering four full-time doctoral positions and one post-doctoral position in the field of public international law.
Four Doctoral Positions: Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria is offering a maximum of four full-time doctoral scholarships for South African nationals in the field of public international law, with thesis topics related to the relationship between international humanitarian law and human rights law in military operations.
One Post-Doctoral Position: Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria is offering a Postdoc position in the field of public international law. The area of research must be related to the relationship between international humanitarian law and human rights law in military operations.
This is a two-year position open to suitable candidates of any nationality.
Salary: R200 000 per annum (tax free)
