THE National University of Science and Technology has extended its services to Harare, as its assortment of programmes have proven popular across the country.
According to the Vice-Chancellor's 2011 Annual Report, there are seven courses that are being offered in Harare and the response has been overwhelming.
"During the year 2011, there were many block release programmes introduced and offered in Harare and hence the university widened its access to education," read the report.
Nust's director of information and public relations Mr Felix Moyo said programmes which were now being offered at Nust Harare are Executive Masters Business Administration (EMBA), MBA Banking and Finance, Post Graduate Diploma in Management, PhD in Business Administration, PhD in African Leadership Development, Risk Management and Master of Science (Msc) Finance and Investment.
"These programmes are very popular in Harare especially for people who are working, it is convenient for them than to travel more than 400 kilometres to Bulawayo to access them," said Mr Moyo.
He said students in Harare insisted on Nust programmes, therefore the institution had to move to accommodate them.
"So far the programmes are going on well and the response is overwhelming," said Mr Moyo.
He said extending Nust services to Harare assisted them to fulfill their mandate of training manpower for the region, country and the world.
"The Harare office assisted several departments to get placements for students on attachment. It also helped a number of students secure graduate trainee positions," said Mr Moyo.
