423 students graduate at Belvedere Technical Teachers College

423 students from Belvedere Technical Teachers College have been conferred with diplomas in education.
The college's 28th graduation ceremony saw the conferment of diplomas in education from various vocational and technical programmes.
In his speech at the ceremony, the guest of honour, Acting Vice Chancellor of the Harare Institute of Technology, Engineer Quinton Kanhukamwe said the graduands should complement government efforts in harnessing human capital development for sustainable growth.
Engineer Kanhukamwe added that the graduands are key in the indigenisation and economic empowerment programme which is being championed by the Zanu PF government.
He said graduands should be highly knowledgeable and become agents of meaningful socio-economic transformation.
University of Zimbabwe Pro-Vice Chancellor of Business Development, Dr Takaruza Munyanyiwa, who was standing in for the university's Vice Chancellor Professor Levi Nyagura, said teachers are central in modern thinking and are responsible of various sectors as providers of future aspirations.
The graduation ceremony was attended by academics, captains of industry and Zanu PF representatives among others.
The 2013 graduation theme for the college is: 'Education and Training for Sustainable Development and Professional Excellence'.
