All degree programmes suspended at Christ College

THE Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (Zimche) has suspended the teaching of all degree programmes at Christ College in Harare. The suspended programmes are under the affiliateship of the Great Zimbabwe University.
In a statement yesterday, Zimche said the facilities at the college failed to meet the minimum standards for the teaching of degree programmes.
"Great Zimbabwe University and Christ College are fully aware of the reasons for the suspension. The two institutions must address the shortcomings at Christ College as a matter of urgency so that the suspension may be lifted," read the statement.
It is stated in the statement that Zimche does not allow the college to offer degrees in collaboration with unrecognized institutions.
"On record, there are no recognised degrees offered at Christ College. Members of the public are advised to check the accreditation status of any institution which the college offers degrees with," the statement read.
A comment could not be obtained from both the Great Zimbabwe University and Christ College.
