TWO sisters who defied all odds and scored four units during this year's Grade 7 examinations are seeking for financial assistance to enable them to further their studies.

Pertinent and Previous Mafunganzira (12 and 13 years old respectively) both had four units.

In an interview, their father, Mr Joseph Mafunganzira, said he was facing financial challenges to finance the brilliant girls' secondary education.

"My girls have been excelling since they were in ECD in Chipinge and I would like to see them further their education. I am determined to get them this assistance because they are very focused, need I mention that Pertinent skipped Grade Six because of her intelligence and when she sat for the

Grade Seven finals, she got four units, " said a visibly impressed Mr Mafunganzira.

In 2009, they scooped various accolades of excellence in South Africa, where they were attending school in Pretoria and they are also proficient in written and stage performances.

Towards the end of 2010, the two sisters briefly attended school at St Georges' Muchena Primary before proceeding to St Augustine's Primary School in 2011-12 where they continued to excel in academic excellence.

"Despite being regularly moved from one school to another, they still managed to adapt and keep their standard. They are full of potential and if they get the necessary assistance, I believe they will do great things for the nation," said Mr Mafunganzira.
