O-level results out, Monte Cassino tops

The Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (Zimsec) has released the November 2013 Ordinary Level results.
Although it could not be immediately determined when students can start collecting results from their examination centres, Monte Cassino Girls High School in Macheke has the highest pass record of 100 percent.
The total number of candidates who sat for five subjects and above was 173 856. The candidates who passed five subjects and above with a grade C or better were 36 031.
The overall pass rate for November 2013 is 20.72% a 2.32% increase from November 2012 pass rate of 18,4%.
Zimsec Director Esau Nhandara said November results had been dispatched to Zimsec regional offices countrywide and thanked those who took part in the marking as well as Zimsec staff for their commitment and dedication to duty.
"Zimsec is notifying examination centres, candidates, parents, guardians and all other stakeholders that the November 2013 Ordinary Level results are out and have been dispatched to ZIMSEC regional offices," said Mr Nhandara.
Female students had a percentage pass rate of 18.51 percent while their male counterparts registered 27.41 percent, a difference of 8.9 percent.
The percentage difference between males and females has increased by 4 percent.
Monte Casino Secondary School recorded a 100 percent pass rate with Zimbabawe Republic Police High School, Nyanga High, St Ignatius College, Regina Mundi Secondary School, Nyazura Adventist, St Dominics Chishawasha Secondary, Kriste Mambo Secondary School, Anderson Secondary School and John Tallach Secondary School, completing the top ten.
